What is cinder claiming?
Like any healthy real-world economy, players in Klavia need to earn Cinders through effort and skill. In other words, the in-game economy is tightly tied to gameplay to prevent runaway inflation. We believe the richest players should be the most active and, to a lesser extent, the most skilled typists.
But what happens if a couple of top teams or grinders feel like playing Santa and give huge amounts of money to everyone? Suddenly, a lot of players, whether they're active or not, become instantly rich. Many of these newly wealthy players won’t even know what to do with all their Cinders, since they can now buy almost everything with only a fraction of their balance. They’ll feel generous as well and pass on what they don’t need to their friends. Before long, Cinders become less valuable because they're too easy to get. When everyone's rich, nobody's really rich.
This is exactly why the cinder-claiming system exists. In Klavia, your team (and any other player) can send you Cinders, but these Cinders first go into your unclaimed pool. You can't spend them until you claim them by completing races. The current claim rate is 200 Cinders per race, though there are ways to increase that rate (more on that later) . Your unclaimed pool is currently capped at 200,000 Cinders. This prevents players from stacking up essentially infinite unclaimed reserves and earning 200 cinders per race, for ever.
The cinder claiming system ensures that players who don't invest a minimum of time and effort will never end up as the wealthiest.
Note that only Cinders sent to you by your team or other players go into your unclaimed pool. The Cinders you earn through normal racing, cinder bundles, blitzes, and other gameplay sources are immediately available.
Increasing your Cinder claim rate
Starting with season V, you can increase your claim rate simply by playing the Poetry Corner side game!
